I know that sometimes we buy clothes because it’s on sale or we thought the design is cute, classy or cool. It’s an impulsive act that almost all of us have.

And over the years, you found out that your cabinets can’t contain all the clothes that you’ve bought. Well, that’s a sign that you need to clean out all the clothes that you haven’t worn.

Before donating your clothes or throw them all in the trash, pick the clothes that still in good condition and put them up for sale. Isn’t it great that you can earn money from things you don’t use anymore?

But with plenty of apps and websites to sell clothes online, you may be confused to choose the one that’s best for you.

Don’t worry, I’ve compiled the list of the best wardrobe apps to buy and sell clothes. Some of these apps also great if you want to buy trendy clothes that are not expensive.

So check out this list, download the one that fits your needs and earn money.

Things To Consider Before Sell Clothes Online

1. Type of your clothes

First thing first, know what style of your clothes you want to sell because not all apps sell every type of clothes. There are some that great for premium fashion, and some are good for vintage clothes and hype clothes. Putting your clothes on the right platform will make you get money quicker.

2. Shipping fee

While there are platforms that take care of everything, there are some that require you to put the listing and ship your own clothes and other items. So always consider your selling price with shipping cost.

The good news is there are some platforms that offer free shipping, so it’s better that you use these apps first.

1. ThredUp

ThredUp is the largest online thrift store, it has more than 30,000 fashion brands for women, teens, and kids where you can buy and sell secondhand clothes.

ThredUp’s mission is to inspire the modern generation of customers to consider secondhand clothes and help reduce the negative impact that fashion has caused on the environment.

To get started, you need to order a free “Clean Out Kit”, once the bag arrives, fill in the bag with your unwanted clothing, and then send it to them.

After it arrives at the ThredUp office and they check the items that you sent, you will be paid only for the items they accept and ThredUp will sell your clothes on their platform.

The payment will be received via Paypal, credit card or ThredUp shopping credit.

This app is great if you don’t want to worry to take photographs of your clothes and putting the list on your own and ship it, because the company already handles it all, so it saves you a lot of time.

However, when you send your items, you don’t know how much cash you’ll get or even the company will accept them.

Because if ThredUp doesn’t accept your clothes, they will send them back to you and charges you $10.99 to do so. This will only backfire on you if it happens.

Tips To Sell Clothes Online

1. Clean Clothes

After you filter the clothes you want to sell and catalog them, always make sure it’s in good condition. You can start by washing it and check if there any stains or not.

2. Selling price

Just because your clothes in good condition doesn’t mean you set your price almost the same as the retail price.

Items always decrease in value over time but there are some exceptions like limited-edition sneaker and bag that hold their value or even can rise in value over time.

So the best way to put your selling price is to take a look at other items that sell similar products as you on secondhand platforms and then set your price.

3. Take good pictures

This is a crucial part because people like to see visual objects. The photo that you use is the first thing that catches the attention of your potential buyers before they look at your descriptions.

So always make sure that your items took on a good background and in good lighting so it makes your items stand more.

4. Write good descriptions

Always write detailed descriptions of your items. You can try to pretend like a buyer and ask questions that you have about your items from sizing to any features your item may have. Write the answer to your questions as your description.

When you creating your listing, remember to always be honest. Don’t put a false description for your item in the hope to get a buyer faster. Doing this can make you get bad ratings, people will see you as a dishonest person and you ended up didn’t earn money from your items.

What Are You Waiting For?

It’s time to pick the right platform that suits you, sell your clothes and make extra money now!
